Valentine's Day Basket Craft

This craft is a woven heart shaped basket. This craft can be done by 4-6 year old children with assistance.

What you need

• 2 4x6" pieces of bristol board
• 1 1x12" strip of bristol board
• 1 heart shape cut from a 7x7" piece of bristol board
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Hole punch
• Brads (7)
• Scissors

Steps

1. Measure up 4 1/2" from the bottom of the 4x6" pieces of bristol board and draw a line across the width. Cut short end to round.
2. On bottom of the same two peices, measure 1" increments across the width of the pieces. Next cut up from each of the 1 " marks to the 4 1/2" mark made in step 1.
3. Weave the two pieces from steps 1 & 2 together to make a heart shape.
4. Place the woven heart over the heart cut out.
5. Holding the two hearts together, punch holes at the bottom point and twice on each side. Use brads to fasten the two hearts together at the holes.
6. Punch one hole at the top of each heart and on each end if the 12" strip. Use brads to fasten strips as a handle.
