Father's Day Coin / Pencil Holder Craft
This is a great father's day gift that children can make out of recycled and found items.
Materials
- Clean, plastic juice / pop bottle
- Exacto knife
- 1x1" squares of tissue paper or tempra paints
- White glue
- Glitter glue
- Paint brush
- Hot glue
- Small pebbles, marbles, or fish tank gravel
Method
- An adult needs to use the exacto knife to cut the bottle to desired height (2-3" for coin holder; 3-4" for pencil holder).
- Use white glue to decorate the bottle with tissue paper or add some glue to the paint to help it stick to the bottle and paint it on.
- To give the dish some stability, have an adult squeeze some hot glue into the bottom. While the glue is hot the child can drop a few pebbles into the bottom.
- Allow glue to dry and it is ready to collect all of that change that ends up in Dad's pockets by the end of the day.
