Groundhog Day Game
Materials:
- A large box
- Blanket (optional)
To Play:
- Have one child crawl inside the box and close box flaps or cover with blanket.
- Instruct the rest of the children to chant, "Groundhog, groundhog what do you see? Winter or Spring? Which will it be?"
- The child in the box can now jump up and pretend to see his shadow, then hide....or jump out of the box so spring can come!
Groundhog Day Poem
This furry friend might come out once a year,
To see his shadow if the day is clear.
And on this very special Ground hog Day,
If his shadow is seen, winter will stay.
For six more long weeks we'll have to keep warm.
We'll thank the groundhog for his quiet alarm.
